Standard Chartered Ghana CEO to head Africa & Middle East

The head of the Ghanaian Business for StandChart has been bumped up after showing tremendous abilityin growing the business in Ghana.

Standard Chartered announces the appointment of Kweku Bedu-Addo, current Chief Executive Officer of the Bank’s business in Ghana to the Africa & Middle East Management team.Mr. Bedu-Addo assumed additional responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer, Standard Chartered Bank West Africa 2 Cluster, comprising Ghana, Sierra Leone and Gambia, effective 1st October 2015.Mr. Bedu-Addo was appointed in 2010 as the first Ghanaian Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank in its 119 year history in Ghana.Related: > Inclusion Hub How Rwanda became a financial inclusion success story

He has previously headed the Bank’s Corporate Banking business across West Africa (excluding Nigeria). He has also headed a multimillion dollar global project based in Singapore and prior to that, headed the Bank’s corporate banking business in Zambia. He worked in the Policy Division of Ghana’s Finance Ministry during the 1990s.

Mr. Bedu-Addo’s appointment to Standard Chartered’s Africa & Middle East Management Team is another first for Ghana. Mr. Bedu-Addo joined Standard Chartered in 2000.
