The customer whose Facebook name is Dery Bede posted on the timeline of the wife of the Vice President, Samira Bawumia.

In his post, he questioned why the government seems silent of the Menzgold saga, especially when huge sums belonging to customers have not been paid.

“Why is your government still silence on Menzgold saga? Remember we are over 1 million customers and its implication on 2020. And God is watching you guy conniving with NAM1 to dupe citizens.”

Meanwhile, other Facebook users who commented on the post said they supported the government’s decision not to pay Menzgold customers their money.

Menzgold Ghana Limited has been in the news for the past months. The company is dealing with regulatory bodies over their legality or otherwise and also facing suits from their customers who have not received their principal money or extra value.

Recently a group of aggrieved customers demonstrated and called on the government to help them get their money. But the government has said that it will not repay the money they lost because the general public was cautioned not to deposit money with the company.

About 100 retired and active Police Officers at the Kasoa Divisional Police Command in the Central Region have also sued Menzgold in a bid to retrieve their locked up investments.

According to the affected officers they went to court because all attempts to retrieve their monies from Menzgold have proven futile.

The Leader of the group, Samson Addai, said they blame the government for their loss because it failed to regulate the activities of the company.
