Oyibi residents live in fear over 16 robbery attacks in February
16 robbery cases have been recorded in the month of February alone at Oyibi in the Greater Accra region.

The Oyibi-Frafraha District Police Command said it does not have a single assault rifle to fight the rising cases of armed robbery attacks.
Police Commander in charge of the District, Supt Susana Adjei Mensah in an interview on Accra-based Citi FM said "we do not even have one vehicle in the district. When I came, there was one spoilt car parked around and when I approached Commissioner Adu Poku of the Adentan station and asked him for a pickup, he said they don’t have any vehicle available so I should repair the old one and make do with it. But it broke down again beyond repairs."
She said the situation has made them have to rely on the emergency patrol team to fight crime, if and when it occurs.
"...but that is not helping because when we call them, it takes them a while before they get here.
"We don’t have enough bulletproof vests too," she added.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Kpone-Katamanso, Joseph Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo has attributed the growing number of insecurity in his Constituency to inadequate funds released by government to the security personnel.
He blamed the police for not collaborating with his office to curb the rampant robbery in the constituency.
Speaking on Accra-based Radio XYZ, the MP said "It’s very painful...we must work as stakeholders and we must work together. I’m talking about myself and then the police. When it comes to security or whatever development in the area, I’m a major stakeholder. I have not personally been informed by the police administration within the catchment area of this attack."
