He said he has become a torn in the flesh of Bawumia and the NPP for his constant critique of the government on the economy.

He said, "At the hearing of the name Adongo, NPP and Bawumia begin to quiver."

Speaking on the depreciation of the cedi against major trading currencies, Adongo accused Bawumia of running away from the 'weak' cedi to India.

"Dr. Bawumia has gone to India to do juju on the dollar. The cedi's sudden strength against the dollar is not normal," he said.

Speaking on Accra-based Okay FM, he said the NPP lied to Ghanaians on the economy prior to the 2016 elections.

"You can't use lies, deception, and calumny to win political power and still wish to proceed with same to govern and maintain power," the MP noted.

According to him, the Cedi is currently surviving on pain killers.

The MP who doubles as the Member of the Finance Committee of Parliaments advised the NPP to stop circulating fake news about him.

"If they lack the intellectual capacity to stabilize the epileptic cedi, they should swallow their arrogance and empty pride for the good people of Ghana to assist them with superior knowledge," he added.

He earlier predicted that the cedi will further depreciate against the dollar and other trading currencies before June 2019.

The local currency is still struggling to stabilise against the major international currencies with the US dollar and currently selling at GH¢5.4.
