Bayern Munich finished as leaders in group E with 14 points, while Liverpool ended second in group C with nine points.

Ajax v Real Madrid
Throughout all their group stage games, Dutch club Ajax did not lose any match, and they will be facing the defending champions Real Madrid who lost two games before they qualified as leaders in group G.
Ajax have won the Champions League title four times in their history, and their pedigree will be put into test against Real Madrid when the knock out stage game begins
