Jorge Lorenzo has a "super offer" to join Ducati next season, according to motorcycling great Giacomo Agostini.

Lorenzo has spent his entire eight-year MotoGP career at Yamaha, guiding the Japanese manufacturer to five constructors' championships along with his three world titles.

However, Lorenzo's future has been brought into the spotlight in recent weeks with his contract at Yamaha expiring at the end of the year, and the 28-year-old has been heavily tipped to link up with Ducati at season's end.

And Agostini, an eight-time 500cc world champion, revealed Lorenzo has definitely received an offer from Ducati's owners.

"I hope Lorenzo signs with Ducati," the 73-year-old told quotidiano.net. "I say that as an Italian.

"I know for a fact that [Ducati owner] Audi has made him a super offer."

Lorenzo leads the standings after one round in 2016 following his victory at the season-opening Qatar MotoGP.
