New Zealand and Hurricanes wing Nehe Milner-Skudder has been ruled out of June's Test series against Wales and the rest of the Super Rugby season.

The 25-year-old requires surgery on his dislocated shoulder, an injury suffered in his side's 23-19 win over the ??Blues on Friday.

Hurricanes coach Chris Boyd was left saddened by the blow to his team, who have one win and two losses from their opening three games.

"Losing Nehe is a blow and obviously disappointing for him," he said.

"But we're really lucky in that we have a lot of depth in the outside backs and when you can bring a 53-Test All Black like Cory Jane into the team you aren't going too bad."

The injury also rules Milner-Skudder out of the All Blacks' three-Test series against Wales in June.
