New 3.0 CSL 'Hommage' to debut May 22

The BMW group will unveil the new BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage to the general public for the first time at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on 22 May.

This model is the BMW design team’s tribute to a timeless classic and iconic BMW coupe from 1970 -  the BMW 3.0 CSL. The new car is a nod to the exemplary engineering achievements, lightweight design and performance pioneered by the BMW 3.0 CSL.

The homage pulls on the character of the earlier model and bestows cutting edge materials to translate it into the present day with a new and exciting guise.

The design of the new BMW 3.o CSL homage is one that exudes sheer dynamic brilliance, with the whole body framed by striking air deflectors, powerful arches, prominent roof and a rear spoiler.

The stretched flanks function as an elegant counterpoint to a uniquely sporty front and rear end. The extensive use of carbon fibre on the lower sections of the cars body further accentuate the cars lightweight design concept.
