Dr. Nicolas Slenkovich on how your profession should be truly fulfilling

Dr. Slenkovich focuses on fulfillment instead of profits in every aspect of his practice. He describes himself as a “partner with patients on their self-improvement journey.” This comes through with his approach to plastic surgery. He explains, “My surgery philosophy is to create a partnership with my patients. My business focuses first on a patient’s personal goals and their situation as they come to us.” Only after identifying those goals does he take action. Dr. Nicolas Slenkovich’s long-term goals have always included feeling fulfilled and making a positive impact. This comes through when describing his decision to go into plastic surgery as his specialty. “I could envision combining the challenges on aesthetic and technical surgery with an ability to work with patients that valued and sought out a professional for their goals.”

Some of Dr. Nicolas Slenkovich’s philosophy also comes through in his definition of success. He describes it as “earned satisfaction through helping others achieve their goals.” Every action Dr. Slenkovich takes works towards this satisfaction and fulfillment. When asked about his most satisfying moment, he describes it in terms of the partnership with patients. He says, “The most satisfying reward I receive is a true connection and partnership with patients who are striving for improvement in their very personal goals.” His explanation of his greatest success is also in a similar vein. He says, “My ‘greatest success’ is being able to be a resource for patients that choose to commit to a transformation goal.” He frames his success in terms of the happiness of and impact on others. This shows the extent of his dedication to fulfillment.

Dr. Slenkovich grew up in Silicon Valley. He decided to attend medical school after completing his undergraduate degree. After choosing to specialize in plastic surgery, he worked to become double-board certified. He is now a double-board certified surgeon in otolaryngology and plastic surgery. He describes his life’s purpose as “to encourage others to explore and live the freedom of self-empowerment.”

Dr. Nicolas Slenkovich does not focus on riches or having a certain number of followers. Instead, he measures his success based on his feelings of fulfillment. He feels the most successful when his patients are happy with their results and with the knowledge that he helped them on their journey.
