Bank of Ghana Governor Dr Johnson Pandit Asiama speaking at the launch of the Ghana Investment Promotion (GIPC) 2025 Annual Investment Report, said the cedi’s recovery has been accompanied by stronger external reserves and increased economic activity across sectors.

“The Cedi has so far recorded a significant recovery against major international currencies, external reserves have been strengthened, and economic activity has gained momentum across sectors,” he said.

He said economic growth had become increasingly broad-based, supported by improvements in services and agriculture, alongside a gradual recovery in industry.

“These developments have contributed to creating a more stable and predictable environment for businesses and investors,” he said.

The GIPC report showed that Ghana recorded new investments valued at approximately US$2.61 billion across 253 projects in 2025.

Dr Asiama said the figures reflected renewed confidence in Ghana’s economic prospects despite global uncertainties.

“Investment, at its core, follows confidence,” he said, adding that investors seek environments where “policies are credible, institutions are dependable, and economic conditions are predictable”.

He also highlighted growing participation by domestic investors, including 71 wholly Ghanaian-owned projects valued at nearly US$686 million.
