The man, believed to be in his 50s was allegedly part of a group of persons who had gathered around the newly constructed terminal at night to drink and smoke marijuana, 3news.com reports.

Eyewitnesses say the deceased was unfortunately not able to avoid the train which was carrying manganese from Takoradi to Nsuta.

The train subsequently hit him and he died instantly.

The body of the deceased, who has only been described as Kweku, was conveyed to the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital morgue for autopsy.
