Ghanaian dancehall heavyweight Shatta Wale has issued a firm warning to event organisers, signalling that future bookings will come at a premium if he is once again scheduled as the final act at major concerts.

The artiste raised the concern midway through his performance at the GTCO Music Concert, held at the Accra Sports Stadium and organised by Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Ltd. The show, which began late on 19 December 2025, stretched into the early hours of 20 December 2025, prompting Shatta Wale to speak out about the toll such delays place on his supporters.

According to him, promoters who insist on placing him last on the programme should be prepared to pay no less than $2 million. He argued that fans attend these events largely to see him perform and should not be forced to wait for hours, particularly when they have other commitments to attend to.

“If they ever do a show and put me on last again, I will charge any promoter $2 million. Nobody should waste my fans’ time. Everyone has something to do,” he said in Pidgin English, drawing loud reactions from the crowd.

Shatta Wale’s comments come after a period in which he consistently closed several high-profile concerts towards the end of 2025. These included Tidal Rave, Wildcard Edition, Medikal’s BYK Concert, and the GTCO Music Concert, reinforcing his reputation as a headline attraction.

The second edition of the GTCO Music Concert, hosted by GTCO, was widely praised for its production quality, star power and overall impact. Thousands of music lovers filled the stadium, with many hailing the event as one of the standout live music experiences of the year.

The concert featured an impressive line-up of artistes, including Nigeria’s Patoranking, Fireboy, and Joeboy, alongside King Promise, Ayra Starr, who performed in Ghana twice within a month after also appearing at Tidal Rave, R2Bees, Sarkodie, Burna Boy, and Shatta Wale himself.

As debates continue around concert scheduling and artiste compensation, Shatta Wale’s remarks have reignited discussions about fan experience, performance order and the true cost of headlining Ghana’s biggest music stages.
