Duan Ying-Ying claimed the first WTA title of her career by defeating Vania King 1-6 6-4 6-2 in the final of the Jiangxi Open on Sunday.

World number 163 Duan fought from one-set down to triumph in Nanchang, showing tremendous determination overcome sixth seed King on home soil.

The unseeded Duan failed to hold serve once in the opening set, her American opponent racing ahead despite suffering a break in game four.

The 27-year-old Chinese player saved seven of eight break points faced in a crucial second set to force a decider, where she finally found her rhythm to win 15 of 17 points off her first serve and complete the win.
