Matt Par: 3 critical reasons to invest in organic growth rather than fake subscribers or views
Paid subscribers and views not only put creators at the risk of losing their credibility but may also result in their account and content being restricted by YouTube admin. Also, the creators may never find out what kind of content could do well on the platform and bring them sustainable growth and subscribers.
While some YouTubers might still consider exploring paid avenues to win the race, Matt Par lists three reasons they should not take this route.
Not allowed as per YouTube policy:
While content creators who increase their subscribers and views through paid methods might go unnoticed by YouTube, it’s more likely that they will get noticed for having inconsistencies in engagement. Imagine having 100,000 views on one or two videos but only a few hundred on the rest.
Once the YouTube authorities identify the inconsistencies, the channel is likely to get restricted. In such a case, the creator would lose the genuine subscribers they have gained along with their uploaded content.
Attracts the wrong audience:
Matt Par mentions that even if a creator can jump through the loopholes and their account continues to be active, the YouTube algorithm would read the engagement wrongly. He says, “As your views are coming from bots or people who don’t genuinely like your content, YouTube is not able to understand what kind of an audience would want to watch your content.”
It starts suggesting your content to people who will not watch your videos or might even dislike them, affecting your credibility as a creator. YouTube will eventually stop suggesting your content to a wider audience which will bring you back to square one.
Draws you into an unbreakable circle:
Initially, buying subscribers and views might seem extremely affordable, but it doesn’t stop there. When the creator observes inconsistent engagement on their videos, they have to keep buying subscribers for consistency. Inconsistent engagement not only brings you under YouTube’s radar, but genuine viewers will also be easily able to identify the fake engagement. This creates a never-ending circle of paying for a goal that can’t be accomplished.
Matt Par says, “The only way to gain genuine growth on YouTube is to persevere. Find out what the audience is looking for and fill the need with your content.” This is the only way to become a respected content creator and impact people with your content.
