Coach Prince Yaw Owusu is under intense pressure as his team struggles to impress. Owusu rejoined the club after their qualification to the group stage when Tom Strand went AWOL from the team's hotel in Pretoria against Mamelodi Sundowns, leaving technical director Augustine Evans Adotey to guide the team to dreamland over the South Africans in the second leg of the final qualifier.

Prince Owusu says he is confident of a win against Yanga. "I think you could see I just got on board. Gradually we are coming up, at this point in time I can tell you that the guys (players) are ready, they are ready to deliver. I trust them and seeing what they've been doing at training grounds, am confident that they are going to deliver".

"All depends on our preparation. We've seen some bonuses been paid by the Management and I think they are happy. You could see from their body language when I was traveling with them from Tarkwa to this place (Sekondi). I've seen that the boys are ready to go and I've been in this game for a while, when guys are ready you could tell by their body language," he said.

Medeama have also shot themselves in the foot by their incredible profligacies. They are known for playing good football and they have so far made another name for wasting great chances. The players fluffed countless opportunities against Algerian side, M.O. Bejeia in Sekondi and yet again failed to win in Tanzania with the chances that came their way.

Owusu reveals his players were clueless in the art of scoring goals. He said he used to blame the players for the wasted chances but he later realized the players have little ideas in how to convert chances to goals.

"We've seen how it is letting us down by creating all those chances and we don't finish it. We've worked on it, I can promise you. We've done it about three times in the week. How the players work in front of the pole is to make them relax, comfortable, when they have the ball they don't rush to it, you just take your time.

"First I was blaming them that they are letting us down but I found out they didn't have any clue and we are getting them to know what they should do when they get to that situation".
