The staff of ECG embarked on a nationwide sit-down strike for three-day in protest of a government decision to release ECG to a concessionaire.
During this time the PURC asked the leaders of the Company to put in contingency measures to ensure that customers are served without any hitches. This request was not met by ECG.
The PURC argues that this is a breach of LI 1861 and LI 1935 hence the need for the Commission to protect the consumer.
