ECOBANK secret account never existed - NPP
Adverse findings of the Special Committee of the New Patriotic Party set up to investigate the operation of an alleged secret account at Ecobank has indicated that there was no setting up and operation of a secret account. In a communique, it said the account in question at the Ecobank Trust Towers account was not a secret account but a party account, albeitdormant. Meanwhile, An Accra High court has dismissed an injunction application by suspended Chair of the NPP Paul Afoko to stop an action which will lead to his removal at the Party's conference in Suyani.
Fake doctor arrested for terminating pregnancy
A cleaner who posed as a doctor and allegedly caused a woman to lose her pregnancy through the prescription of wrong medication has been arrested by the Odorkor police in Accra.The suspect, Daniel Yartey, 37, popularly known as Dr Nartey by his neighbours at Achimota in Accra, is said to have been practising illegally for the past seven years.The Odorkor Divisional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Mr Francis Aboagye Nyarko, said Nartey was arrested after a woman reported to the police that a fake doctor had given her an injection which had led to the loss of her pregnancy.
Budget for 2016 elections can't be made public - EC
The electoral commission says it is unable to make its budget known to the general public due to “ major negotiations with vendors and potential suppliers for election related procurement.”The EC says there are saving they hope to make during the procurement process and putting their budget out there in the public will defeat that goal. According to the EC, It would not be helpful for suppliers to know the amounts in the budget until we have concluded the procurement process.”
Ayew named player of the month for November
Swansea City have voted Andre Ayew as the best player of the month of November.The Ghana international pipped competition from Wayne Routledge and Kyle Naughton for a second consecutive scoop of Swansea City’s player of the month award. Ayew featured in all three Premier League games for Swansea City in the month of November against Norwich City, AFC Bournemouth and Liverpool.
