2016 champions of the National Science and Maths Quiz Adisadel College has qualified for the semi-finals of the 2017 NSMQ.

They won the second quarter-final contest in a nerve-wracking competition to send New Juaben SHS and Takoradi SHS out of the competition.

The defending champions recorded 50 points, New Juaben SHS 40 and Takoradi SHS, with 38 points.

Meanwhile, Ghana National College knocked out Aburi Girls’ SHS and Archbishop Porter Girls’ SHS in the first in series of the quarter-finals to make it to the semifinals.

University Practice SHS also won the second quarter-final .

KNUST SHS scored 33 points to complete the contest whilst University Practice SHS won with 51 points as their closest contender, Tamale SHS scored 48 points.

Before the final round of the contest, University Practice had 48 points, with a 13- point lead ahead of Tamale SHS whilst KNUST was trailing with 33 points.

The 2017 edition of the National Science & Maths Quiz is sponsored by the Ghana Education Service through the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) and supported by Tigo, GOIL, Prudential Life Insurance, Accra College of Medicine and GCB Bank.
