While delivering an address at the 71st United Nations General Assembly in New York, Mr. Mahama felt the need to borrow a few words from music.

It is no secret that Ghana’s president is a big music fan. He has spoken extensively in previous interviews about his favourite songs and musicians which include Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale.

So while delivering an address at the 71st United Nations General Assembly in New York, Mr. Mahama felt the need to borrow a few words from music.
He found his thoughts captured perfectly by the King of Pop, Michael Jackson in the 1991 hit song Heal the World.
"Michael Jackson sang, 'heal the world. make the world a better place for you and for me... and the entire human race...What happened to that enthusiasm?" - he quizzed the world’s leaders.

This was a great line in a speech that focused on some of the major issues facing the world today including disease, governance, the world economy, and poverty.
John Mahama describes the late pop icon as one of the greatest artistes ever.
