Shockingly, Esmond Allcock did not mention anything like good food or exercising. Instead, he said "I didn't behave myself for a few years there, but then I got a really good wife."

He reportedly lost his wife, Helen just seven years ago after 72 years of enviable marriage and then moved to the Kerrobert Health Centre recently having lived alone for some time.

Esmond’s 78-year-old son, Dale Allcock is quoted as saying, ”He really is a gift. That's about all we can call that.”

Dale could not make it to the father’s birthday party organized by the health workers, but said, "We Facetime every day on his iPad and you can really tell how happy he is, and they treat him like gold in there."

He reportedly said that his father  has lived in Kerrobert, which is located about 200 kilometres southwest of Saskatoon, for 100 years and worked as a farmer before retiring in 1975.

Mayor of the town, Wayne Mock also reportedly attended the birthday party and declared 26 of January Esmond Allcock day.

Esmond currently has 67 living relatives which includes 38 great grandchildren.
