The philanderer married his first wife when he was 17 years old, and at his current age 58, he has 120 wives with 28 children.

However, one would have hardly imagined that a building contractor would take pride in that view by marrying up to 120 women by age 58.

Surprisingly, it has never been a secret to all the 120 wives, and they have never had any problem with it, once they are getting the care they deserve from a man.

Tambon Prasert, father of 28 and head of Phromnee district, in Thailand’s Nakorn Nayok province, which is some 90 km from Bangkok, recently admitted to newsmen that he had illegally taken over 100 wives.

Polygamy is illegal in Thailand and reporters exposed Tambon Prasert’s illegal act following tip off from unnamed sources.

The local politician and owner of a successful construction business, recently welcomed members of the media into his home to shed some light on his family life, after they traveled to Phromnee to confirm their leads.

When questioned by the media, he revealed the truth that, “I have 120 wives and 28 sons and daughters.”

The Casanova further disclosed that, “my first marriage was when I was 17,” saying “my first wife was one or two years younger than me and we had three children. After that I had a string of others. Most of them were young women and they were all under 20. I don’t like older ones – they argue too much”.

Prasert explained that, “I am a building contractor, wherever I built a house I got a wife there, I love them all – and they all love me.”

Aside the illegality of his conduct, one cannot complain if the women involved do not have any problem about the development. The building contractor said “I would say ‘I have a new wife OK’ – no one had a problem with that. They could all accept the situation and there were never any arguments.”

The proud polygamist however emphasised that, “I respect them all. In every case I asked their parents for permission to wed according to customs and traditions. All were properly wed at organized ceremonies.”

He told newsmen that taking care of the numerous women has never been difficult.

“If they didn’t have their own house I would get them some land and sort everything out for them so everyone was happy.”

To the surprise of everyone, Tambon Prasert’s newest wife, 27-year-old Nam Fon, was right by his side during the interview with media men. Neither did she show any sign of shock at revelations by her husband.

While 22 of his wives live near his home in Phromnee district, the others are based all around Thailand.

It is far from clear if Tambon Prasert’s breach of the law will land him in any legal consequences.
