According to an eye witness, the people remained trapped for over 30 minutes because the facility’s stand-by generators were not functional either.

He said they began hitting the door of the elevator as most of them became alarmed.

“I have been here for over 30 minutes now and no one is here to help rescue them. I haven’t seen anybody here to help. As at now I hear the plant is also down so until the power comes back they will be in the lift,” the witness said.
