The young woman resorted to the rather drastic way to lose weight and look skinny in order to get a boyfriend just like her friends.

According to thesun.co.uk, all attempts to make Emelia understand the health consequences of her action amounted to nothing, as she thought those advising her against the move did not have her interest at heart.

“I refused to comply with treatment and was convinced that everyone was against me, lying to me and trying to ruin my life,” she said.

Reports suggest that not even falling ill and being hospitalized after reducing to a scary weight of 5 stones could make the psychology student change her mind.

Emelia said “When I was ill, I didn’t believe there was anything really wrong with me. I genuinely believed I could maintain at that weight and still live a fairly normal life. I didn’t want to get rid of my eating disorder.

“Before recovery I would walk my dog for thirty-minutes twice a day. I would do yoga and abdominal workouts every morning. I wouldn’t sit down during the day until after 4pm.”

When eventually the young woman came to the realization that she had been doing more harm to herself than good, she has now reversed to weight training.

“I am thankful for everyday I’m alive and I try to be as positive as I can in any situation. I feel like I can achieve anything now.”
