The Minister also announced plans to establish a Senior High School in Nima under the Inner City and Zongo Development Ministry.
“For now, the best thing to do is to ensure that the place is beautified and for us to bring better sanitation management within the area to reduce some of the problems they encounter,” he said.
Speaking in an interview on TV3’s New Day on Wednesday, the Minister announced plans to establish a Senior High School in Nima under the Inner City and Zongo Development Ministry.
He further indicated that his outfit has plans to engage landlords and people living in the Zongo communities to decide what would be best for them.
“We will have a proper discussion with the people…if they agree, a memorandum of understanding will be signed, and investors will put up high-rise buildings in the area.”
The Minister who is also the MP for Madina assured that funds that have been allocated to his ministry will be used judiciously in addressing the many challenges of residents including crime, sanitation, and infrastructural development.
The Zongos in Ghana are settlements in the cities mainly populated predominantly by settlers from northern Ghana.
