After his tweet, most Ghanaians supported his call for a clean Accra and a clean Ghana at large.

This has prompted the Minister of Sanitation Kofi Adah to take some of his workers to the Cantonment area where the High Commission is located to clean the place.

This has left Ghanaians on social media asking if the Minister has seen the filth in other areas within Ghana’s capital city.

Cantonments can be said to be one of Accra’s plush suburbs in the La Dade Kotopon Municipality.

Reports suggest that it was intended to become military quarters under the British Colonial government in the Gold Coast era, but was later upgraded to become a modern planned residential settlement.

Most of the homes in the area have three to four bedrooms and are often occupied by the politicians and other influential persons in the country.

Many diplomatic missions in the country are in the Cantonments area including the U.S. Embassy.
