The polling station Executives in a petition said, the embattled officer has conducted himself gracefully well since he was suspended.

The polling station Executives said, the embattled officer has conducted himself gracefully well since he was suspended.

Kwabena Agyapong was suspended indefinitely along with the Second Vice Chairman, Sammy Crabbe after they publicly kicked against the suspension of his close ally, the National Chairman., Paul Afoko.

Their conduct, the party's Disciplinary Committee said, violated Article 3(d) of the party’s constitution which demands members to publicly uphold the party's decisions.

They were accused of frustrating the efforts of the then opposition party to focus on winning the 2016 general elections after staying in opposition for eight years.

But the Executives appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the National Executive Council of the party to reconsider the suspension and call Mr Agyapong back.

A polling station Coordinator in the Tano-North constituency, Frederick Ansah-Bonah said the conduct of Agyapong even after his suspension shows his unquestionable loyalty to the ruling NPP.

He told Accra-based Citi FM that "Kwabena Agyapong has shown remorse; he’s shown that he’s one of the committed members in the NPP’s camp. if you look at what has happened, even with the conference at Cape coast he attended and also supported some of the constituencies  during the general elections. And Kwabena Agyei Agyapong has shown that he’s a committed member of the NPP. And again, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong inspite of what has happened, he didn’t go to court, like other people did. That is the more reason why we are calling on the National Executives to reinstate him."
