NDC used Mills' health for politics - family
The family had Professor John Evans Atta Mills has said officials of the National Democratic Congress played politics with health of the former Ghanaian leader.

The head of the family, Ato Harry Brew, an 85-year-old consultant in industrial etymology, says Mills’ younger brother, Cadman Mills, noticed his brother has “changed instantly” and that he needed to be flown to the USA for treatment.
Mr Brew said the NDC objected to the idea but he insisted the former president taken on a medical vacation.

He told the Daily Guide newspaper: “He (Cadman Mills) told me he was going to China. When he came back, he saw that he (Prof Mills) had changed instantly so he came here and told me Brother, I want to send Uncle Fiifi (Prof Mills) back to the United States and then I said Yes! Why Not!”
“So we decided he (Prof Mills) was going to fly on a Monday or so. When he was going to fly him, they (NDC government) said no! I said take him! Whatever they say we should not listen to them!”
“They said they were going to have election and when they send him to the US, it will affect the election and all that. I said but he is a human being and he is my brother if he is sick and we are taking him what is their problem,” he adds
Professor Mills died in office on July 24 after he was rushed to the 37 Military hospital following a short illness at the Castle (the former seat of government).

The cause of his death has remained a thorny issue in the political landscape.
Mr Brew's claims appear to corroborate a March interview in which Cadman Mills accused handlers of the former president of forcing him to hide his illness.
According to him, the December 2012 elections were on the horizon and the party did not think "politically it was not right" for the public to know.
