Volta Region to hold a night of 'Honour and Pride' in Ho on Saturday

The Volta Regional Boxing Federation held a press conference in the Volta regional capital, Ho, on Friday 4th August, 2017.

The presser, which was held at the Altiza Arena, is geared towards the upcoming boxing promotion this Saturday,  12th August, 2017 at the Ho Sports Stadium, dubbed 'The Night of Honour and Pride’.

The bill features Ghanaian boxer, Odartey Lamptey, who comes up against Nigerian opponent, John Kudeya, as the headline bout of the night.

Other boxers on the undercard include Anama Dotsey (Ho) who faces Charles Tettey from UK.

The evening will also witness a number of amateur bouts of which winners will be selected to represent the region in the Unity games which comes off from the 31st August to 6th September in Kumasi.

In his keynote address, Chairman of the Regional Boxing Federation, Enam Foster Dagadu, urged corporate bodies to come to the aid of the Volta Regional Boxing Federation.

"I entreat corporate bodies, the government, influential people in the region and the public to give their ultimate support to the Boxing Federation and the boxers to sustain the efforts of taking boxing to a higher height in the region," he said.

Tickets for the event are going for Gh¢10 and Gh¢15 for popular stand and ringside respectively.
