Richmond Boakye Yiadom earns late Black Stars call-up

The Red Star Belgrade striker has been handed a late call-up to replace Raphael Dwamena

It is understood that the FC Zurich striker who failed his Brighton and Hove Albion medical is seeking a second opinion on his health, so he won’t be available to represent his country.

Boakye Yiadom who has been scoring week in week out for his Serbian side Red Stars Belgrade has been rewarded with a late call-up to represent Ghana.

However, he will miss the first leg in Kumasi on Friday due to the late notice, but he will be available for the reverse fixture in Brazzaville next week.

''Boakye is ever ready to serve his country. The call up is late but he's ready and will give more than 100%,'' his agent Oliver Arthur told GHANASoccernet.com.

The  former Juventus striker was part of the Black Stars team that placed fourth in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, at the time James Kwesi Appiah, the head coach was the assistant of the team.
