Asamoah Gyan seals two-year deal with Kayserispor

Black Stars skipper has joined Turkish side Kayserispor

Gyan, 31 became a free agent following the end of his loan spell with Al Ahli Dubai from Shanghai SIPG.

Several clubs were in the race for his signature but he has ended up joining Kayserispor after completing talks with the club president President, Erol Bedir on Wednesday.

A statement on the club’s website read: An agreement has been reached with world famous footballer Asamoah Gyan to join Kayserispor.

President Dr Erol BEDİR, actor Asamoah GYAN, Gökhan Altıntaş, Tuna Kaya and our club officials have signed a 2 + 1 year contract with the Ghanaian in the last meeting in Istanbul.

Our president Dr.Erol BEDİR and Asamoah GYAN will move to Kayseri with 21.20 plane tonight.

The deal is believed to be worth €1.5 million euros annually.

Gyan was on the verge of joining Bursaspor but the move collapsed after the two parties failed to reach an agreement.

Last season Asamoah Gyan bagged eight goals in 21 appearances, while on loan with Al Ahli Dubai

The deal with Kayserispor in the Turkish topflight league means, the Black Stars all-time top scorer with 51 goals has returned to Europe for the first time since 2011 when he made a shocking move from Sunderland in the English Premier League to Al Ain in UAE.
