Former Black Stars players faced friends of Asamoah Gyan in the first ever match at the Asamoah Gyan Sports Centre on the Accra Academy campus.

Ex-Ghana internationals were held to a one all draw by Asamoah Gyan XI in the first ever game staged at the Asamoah Gyan Sports Centre on Wednesday under floodlight.

Godwin Attram made history by scoring the maiden goal at the Asamoah Gyan Sports Centre. It was a free kick outside the 18-yard box which was perfectly struck in by the former Olympics attacker in the first half of the game.
However, heading towards the closing minutes of the game substitute for the Asamoah Gyan select side, Dr. Harry drew level for his outfit.
Before kickoff, former President Jerry John Rawlings did the inspection of both teams.
Some of the notable names who featured for former Black Stars were Stephen Baidoo, Afo Doddo, Yaw Acheampong, Ibrahim Tanko, Abukari Damba, Laryea Kingston, etc.
