The Youth & Employment Agency has undertaken an auditing exercise which has led to the agency discover some 3000 ghost names.

The management of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) say it has found some 2,999 ghost names on the agency’s payroll.

This detection of ghost names will save the State about GHs1, 067,700.

The acting Deputy CEO of the Agency in Charge of Operations, Bashiru Ibrahim says the ghost names were found after an auditing, which revealed that payments were made to some beneficiaries with no work done.

These findings, management has commissioned the Internal Audit Agency to conduct a special audit into the operations of the agency, he added.

This auditing of various agencies has become necessary in order to provide a platform for the new administration to take measures to prevent the scandals that rocks agencies.
