Tetteh who was the former chairman in the constituency bowed out of the race after accusing the incumbent MP of manipulating the process.

His decision to bow out was also informed by the National Executive Committee’s verdict to allow two registers to be used for Saturday’s primary in the area.

His refusal to partake in the exercise left two contestants – the incumbent MP, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful and Robert Nicol.

Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful won the election, while Mr. Nicol willingly accepted defeat and pledged to support the party to retain the seat in the November elections.

But in an interview with Joy FM, Mr. Tetteh said he is currently consulting the opinion leaders in the constituency before any decision will be taken.

“I am meeting with the Clergy, senior pastors, chiefs, opinion leaders and Imams in the various Muslim communities in the constituency. After the broad consultation, I will meet with my family and take a decision,” he said.

He said he is not ruling any of the suggestions coming to him from concerned individuals, stressing that, going independent “is a possibility because that is one of the suggestions that has resonated so much.”

He indicated that whatever choice he will make will be about “sticking my head out for the people in the constituency.”
