A red card incident in an amateur football game in Argentina on Sunday however had a tragic end after a young footballer shot and killed the referee of the game and injured another player in the game.

The attacker who is still wanted by the police was shown a red card for a foul in the game. The attacker left the field of play only to go to his backpack, pick a gun and return to the game to shoot the referee for sending him off. He also shot another who survived with an injury.

The incident took place in the Campo de la Ribera area of Cordoboa, Argentina.

According to the police, the referee Cesar Flores, 48 died after being shot three times with one in the head, neck and chest.

The other victim Walter Zarate was rushed to the hospital but is currently out of danger from the shooting wounds sustained.
