Interested Presidential candidates are to cough up GH¢100,000 as presidential filing fee, the highest in the history of Ghana’s democratic governance, to contest the party’s primaries.
Presidential aspirants for the two biggest political parties in the country namely the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party, paid GHc55,000 and GHc85,000 each respectively.
General Secretary of the party, Mr Kwadwo Poku Razak, said the cost of picking and filing of the Presidential nomination forms is GHS 5,000.00 and GHS95,000.00 respectively.
"All interested and eligible Party members can pick the nomination forms from the Party General Secretary at the Party Headquarters at Haatso-Westland (west Legon) between 10am-1pm each day," a statement from the party said.
The party, which is currently electing its constituency and regional executives has planned to go for the first national delegates' congress on May 28, 2016 or second week of June in Kumasi to elect national executives to manage the affairs of the party for the next four years.
APC was provisionally certified by the Electoral Commission of Ghana in February, a few days after its formation.
Mr. Ayariga established APC after losing the presidential primaries of the People’s National Convention  to former candidate Dr Edward Nasigre Mahama.
