"We will shock MO Bejaia in Algeria" - Ashanti Gold CEO Fianoo

The Miners optimistic of a good second leg display n Algeria following a 1-0 home win against M.O Bejaia in the CAF Champions League

Ashanti Gold Chief Executive Officer (CEO),

The Miners last Sunday dig deep before beating MO Bejaia 1-0 in the first leg tie of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League thanks to Tijani Joshua’s 60 minute strike.

The Ghanaian side dominated play but they fluffed the chances they created despite their opponent having a man sent off for receiving his yellow card on the day.

However, the well calculated defensive strategy of the Bejiaia based club worked perfectly as they held on and despite their numerical disadvantage conceded only one goal at the end of the game.

And with the slim victory going into the second leg, the CEO of the reigning Ghanaian premier League champions has predicted that his charges will shock MO Bejaia in Algeria.

“They came into the game and had a well-rehearsed strategy which worked for them. We created decent chances that we should have scored more goals but at the end we had only one.

“I’m not disappointed with the scoreline, I’m confident that we will shock them in Algeria in the return leg in two weeks’ time in order to book our ticket to the next stage of the competition. I’m saying that because I know what my players can do so Bejaia should be wary of what we are bringing onboard in the second leg,” Fianoo said after the game.

The second leg has been scheduled to come off on 28th February, 2016 in Algeria.
