Secretary Clinton addressed a room full of aides and supporters who cheered her on in admiration apologized for not winning the election.

"I'm sorry that we did not win this election for the values we share and the visions we hold," she said, "but I feel pride and gratitude for this wonderful campaign that we built together ... You represent the best of America and being your candidate has been one of the greatest honours of my life."

Clinton lost the election after Donald Trump got more the 270 electoral college votes  needed to win the election. Clinton however won the popular votes.

Trump in his victory speech promised to unite America after contributing to dividing it with his utterances during the campiaign.

Secretary Clinton urged her young supporters not to give up fighting  for their rights.

"This loss hurts but please never stop believing that fighting for what's right is worth it"

In a powerful message to young girls  the world over Clinton urged never give up on achieving dreams.

President Barack Obama also congratulated Trump and said his staff should work towards a peaceful transition of power.
