Elmina Sharks did well to restrict their opponents to few chances at Elmina, but the Dormaa-based club stepped things up and scored goals through Godfred Saka to earn a deserved win.

The only goal of the match came in the first half but confusion between referee JA Amenya and his assistant over whether the ball crossed the line was the subject of debate among furious Elmina Shark fans.

Fans at the Nduom Park protested in vain as the referee pointed to the centre of the pitch for a restart despite his assistant's flag being raised.

The assistant referee Philip Darko ruled the goal out by raising his flag but subsequently lowered it and rushed to the centre line for a restart.

Sharks huffed and puffed in search of an equaliser but Aduana Stars held-on for their first away win of the two-week old season.
