Uganda's national football has started training in Tunisia ahead of its first AFCON appearance in 38 years.

The Cranes as they are known arrived in Tunis on Sunday via Dubai to prepare for a tough group that involves favourites Ghana,Egypt and Mali. In spite of the reputations of the countries in group D, the Ugandans will be feeling confident after a stellar 2016 under Micho Sredojovic.

Uganda plays its first match against at the AFCON in Port Gentil against the Black Stars of Ghana on January 17 and will not have too many fears after going unbeaten against the West African giants in their last three games.

Sredojovic will be relying on the form and experience of Captain Geoffrey Massa, Mike Azira and Khalid Aucho as well as highly rated goalkeeper Dennis Onyango to make their return to continental competition a happy one
