He said if not for a last minute intervention from the Presidency, they would have been left with no option but to import the flags from China due to cost.
He also disclosed that the quantity they were looking for also created problems for the local suppliers. He said, "But we couldn’t bring them down from there so we had to fall on local printers and they couldn’t meet the quantities they wanted.”
Meanwhile, the planning committee revealed that moves to buy the flags from China never materialized as the government took a new turn to have them brought here in Ghana despite the cost and quality.
