Ex-Ghana international was at Stamford Bridge to Watch Ayew

Michael Essien was spotted entering the Stamford Bridge to watch Andre Ayew play his former club, Chelsea.

The former Black Stars and Chelsea midfielder was among the spectators who trooped to the Stamford Bridge to witness Chelsea beat West Ham United on their opening Premier League game on Monday.

The Italian, Antonio Conte had a perfect start to life in the Premier League, as Chelsea won 2-1 through Eden Hazard's goal and a late strike from Diego Costa after James Collins had put the visitors on level pegging.

However, it was a disappointing night for Michael Essien to see his former teammate, Andre Ayew suffers injury 33 minutes into his West Ham career, hence couldn't continue the game.

Michael Essien joined Chelsea 2005 in a deal that was an African transfer record at the time and was key to Jose Mourinho scheme of things, helping Chelsea win the Premier league, FA Cup, League Cup and Champions League.
