Ghanaian midfielder rejects move to Chinese league

Ghana international midfielder Michael Essien has rejected offers to join Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan in China.A number of Chinese clubs have expressed interest in signing Essien but according to Gazzetta.gr, Essien has no interest in a move to the Asian country.Essien, 33, who joined Panathinaikos last Summer, was an unused substitute as his side beat Gianina 3-0 on Sunday evening.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid midfielder's home was burgled by robbers last week and has cast a frustrated figure since then.
