Pressure continues to mount on the Chief Executive Officer of the Korle Bu Teaching hospital, Dr. Gilbert Buckle, as nurses and midwives have joined in the fray to have him resign from the facility.
The members of the association have accused the two of mismanaging the hospital’s internally generated funds and paying what they termed needless judgement debts.
The Korle Bu Nurses and Midwives Association has subsequently written a letter to the health ministry and have copied the president, demanding the resignation of the CEO of the hospital.
The nurses, who put up red arm bands at every area of the hospital complain that the CEO has denied them of several logistics to work with.

However, the president of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association, Mr. Kwaku Asante-Krobea, who said he is yet to receive the petition, believes the decision of the district nurses to send a petition was not appropriate.
"I don't think that it is appropriate enough. You know if it comes from the district, it is too much at the lower level. I think that the regional Association should inform headquarters so that we can take up on such position," he told Accra-based Joy FM.
The CEO of the hospital assumed office in July, 2014 following staff agitation against then acting CEO, Rev. Albert Okpoti Botwe, and then Board Chair Eddie Annan over similar concerns.
