Ahmed Toure: Never received plots of land from Kotoko

Ahmed Toure has revealed that the plot of land promised by Christopher Opoku Mensah, a fan of Asante Kotoko is yet to be fulfilled.

In September 2014 when controversial striker Amed Toure swerved Hearts of Oak to sign for their sworn rivals Asante Kotoko – joining them for the third time, some loyal fans of the club rewarded the Burkinabe attacker with properties ranging from a “Mazda Three” compact car to Two plot of lands but the striker has made a startling  in an exclusive  interview with Metro 94.1 FM Sports that he never received the plots of land as widely reported in the Ghanaian media.

The good gesture by the Kotoko fans and the level of love shown Toure for crossing that thin line between two of Ghana’s biggest football clubs received massive publicity in the country.

Asante Kotoko did not register the innate goalscorer for the 2015/15 season as the two parties have mutually agreed to part ways and this is the first interview the player has granted addressing several issues during his three separate stints with Asante Kotoko.

After flirting with Hearts of Oak in 2014, Toure rejoined the Porcupine Warriors and businessman and Kotoko fan Christopher Damenya promised and bought the car for the intelligent forward who netted eleven goals to help the finish the 2014/15 Ghana premier league as runners-up, but has indicated that the plots of land widely reported to have been received by him is yet to be fulfilled.

“Kotoko supporters really donated valuable items to me. I would never forget  them. They were very charitable to me. Mr.Christopher (Damenya) is one person I will not forget in my life. He bought a car for me. He did a lot of things for me that even the Kotoko management could not do for me. I really respect him. Several supporters gave me money and valuable items .

“But For the plot of land. The man (Christopher Opoku Mensah) who promised me the plots of land has not yet handed the plots to me. But as I am alive maybe he will give it to me sometime to come.If he gives the plots of land to me, fine, I will take it but as I speak to you, I have not received the plots of land from him. Sometimes when I call him to ask of the land, he tells me people are working on the land. From the first day he promised to give me the land, that is what he tells me when I call him. I do not want to speak about it anymore. Its in the public that he has given me plots of land but I have not received any land from him yet,” Toure told Metro 94.1 FM Sports.

Toure is currently in France where he is visiting his wife and son.
