This is after the Kwaku Sakyi-Addo stepped down to take a new responsibility as Chairman of the Board of the National Communications Authority (NCA), the industry regulator.

Mr Sakyi-Addo, who is the first CEO of the Chamber, is credited with building the organisation from nothing to its current significant position in the telecommunications industry.

Apart from being the advocate for the operators, the Chamber has over the years built a niche for itself as a thought-leader in industry issues.

Mr Sakyi-Addo has contributed greatly to the growing understanding of the telecommunications industry.

The Chamber is expected to announce a substantive CEO after the necessary processes have been satisfied.

Some of the demanded processes include; application by interested persons, interview and scrutiny as well as approval.

Many have said that Mr Laryea stands a better chance to becoming the substantive CEO since he has worked with and learnt from the Kwaku Sakyi-Addo.
