Manchester United agree £75 million deal for Lukaku
According to BBC Sport, the two clubs have agreed a fee in the region of £75m for the striker, with United able to offer the 24-year-old Champions League football next season.
Ed Woodward is also understood to have ended the Red Devils’ interest in taking Alvaro Morata to Old Trafford.
After protracted talks over the back-up Real Madrid forward, Woodward is understood to have told the Bernabeu hierarchy negotiations are over.
The 24-year-old has become one of the Premier League's most prolific strikers in his three seasons at Goodison Park, scoring 71 goals in 133 games.
Everton were desperate to keep their main goal scorer, especially after spending close to £100 million this summer to help Ronald Koeman's side break into the top six.
However, Lukaku has made no secret of his desire to play in the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Everton are hopeful of thrashing out a move for Rooney with United ready to waiver a transfer fee for the England striker having reached an agreement on Lukaku's move.
There is a willingness on behalf of Everton, United and the Rooney camp to strike a deal, and has club have now found a compromise which could push a move through.
