Hlatshwayo struck the opener for the Bafana Bafana in the 43rd minute , after centre referee made a  decision to the surprise of everybody when he awarded the hosts, South Africa a penalty.

Eleazar Rodgers' header attempt hit Kalidou Koulibaly's knee. Referee Joseph Lamptey, though, adjudged that the ball had struck the Napoli defender's bandaged hand. For Hlatshwayo it mattered little as he duly stepped up to slam the ball into the back of the net despite Diallo guessing the right way.

Before Serero made it 2-0 on the stroke of half time break.

CAF after reviewing the game handed the controversial Ghanaian referee a three match ban three months ago, but FIFA after investigating the matter has banned him for life.

A statement from CAF reads"offence: poor performance- Awarded a wrong penalty for handball despite the fact that the ball never touched the hand of the player.

"Sanction: 3 months suspension."

FIFA however, found him guilty of manipulating the outcome of the game and stated it will later release a full statement regarding the ban.
