Boy flogs masquerade for assaulting him

A hilarious yet astonishing video of a tussle between a young lad and a masquerade in Calabar, Cross River state is making headlines on social media. 

According to the source, the young flogged the masquerade after he had warned it to stop assaulting him. And unfortunately for the masquerade, this boy had no fear for customs and traditions instead he took matters in his own hands and meted out justice.

The scene which greeted passers-by was unheard of considering the myths surrounding masquerades in that part of Africa. In Nigeria, these masked persons appeared during festivals or rituals supposedly representing the spirits of their ancestors.
