Football dreams are everywhere irrespective of race or geographical location. For this young kid, he had to be innovative in trying to be like his football hero. Sad innovation though.
Spanish football blog Juez Central wrote on Twitter: "Tremendous image. A child in Iraq manages to play in his idol’s T-shirt. The Beautiful Game."
An image of a kid wearing a blue-and-white plastic bag depicting the colours of World Player of the Year Lionel Messi’s Argentina football shirt appeared on the internet.
The plastic bag had Messi’s iconic number 10 and his name written at the back of it, something the kid wore as a replica jersey.
Turkish sports website Fanatik on their twitter page: "A young boy in Iraq made a Lionel Messi shirt from a plastic bag."
Now, people have started a search for the kid in the picture reported to have been taken in the war-torn region of Dohuk, Iraq. The original source of the image is however still unknown.
Lionel Messi’s team want to locate the child and ‘arrange something for him’ according to popular Messi fan account on twitter @messi10stats.
