LA Kings Kings win again, Winnipeg Jets hold off Minnesota Wild
The Los Angeles Kings made it five consecutive wins after a tense 3-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday.
Tanner Pearson scored a power-play goal 16 minutes, 34 seconds into the third period to win the game after Taylor Hall had equalised for Edmonton just minutes earlier.
The Oilers had a goal denied with seconds left with goal-line footage proving inconclusive.
Los Angeles' victory means they move up to 10 points in the Pacific Division.
Meanwhile, the Winnipeg Jets held on for a thrilling 5-4 win over the Minnesota Wild.
The Jets raced out to a 5-1 lead by just the 4:34 mark in the second period, with Drew Stafford scoring two goals in the space of four minutes.
It appeared set to be a routine win for the Jets, but two goals in under 40 seconds from Mikko Koivu and Justin Fontaine brought the score back to 5-3.
Zach Parise brought it back to just one midway through the third period but the Jets managed to hold on for their fifth win of the season.
The New York Rangers finished their first 10-game block with a commanding 4-1 win over the Calgary Flames.
The Flames took the lead through Jiri Hudler after 3:06 but the Rangers scored two goals in both the second and third periods to secure the win.
